In 1979, when I had a stressful job, I had my first bypass surgery on my legs. In 1986 I had my second heart attack and six-graft heart bypass surgery. I was found in my room in a Marriott Hotel in La Jolla, CA and was only 1 mile from Scripps Memorial Hospital. EMT's saved me and I spent a week in intensive care. In 1995, I had my first below knee amputation with a subsequent very successful prosthesis. In 2000, I had my second below knee amputation, a bad infection, and eventually another very successful prosthesis.
    Today, I firmly believe that the Lord took me through these events for a purpose. I am totally healthy, running my own business traveling four states on my own, and riding a Schwinn Airdyne 10 miles a day. I also recently was ordained a Deacon at The Church of St. Andrew in Sandy Springs- the Lord sent me there- and have been totally accepted by this small, but dynamic, congregation. My Deacon training was by a beautiful lady- Reverend Cecelya Taylor who was sent to me.

I am blessed and am determined to live to serve- I am 74 years old and going strong.
